Robin Hood Airport’s Community Investment Fund

Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster Sheffield announced this January that it would be launching a Community Investment Fund, aiming to help fund projects within the Sheffield City Region.

So far it has sent aside around £5000 and is in discussion with local organisations and community projects about bidding for money to help out with improvements in the local area.

Robin Hood’s environment and community officer, Kellie Naylor, has spoken out about her delight that the airport can continue assisting local community groups. In the past they have helped to add disabled access to buildings, planning for tree planting, and training scout groups. This is part of a wider ethos that the airport aims to maintain, wherein they help to improve the environment and the local community surrounding the airport.

In the last ten years, the airport has awarded over £15,000 to a huge range of products, allowing them to create lasting value for the community.

Organisations are being encouraged to get in contact with the airport if they feel they could use a small sum of money for the betterment of the local area.
